Rewind Trauma Therapy and the Flash Technique
I’m trained in the Rewind technique, which I can offer as part of other therapeutic work or as stand-alone trauma techniques. I’m also trained in the flash technique.
Using the Rewind Trauma Therapy technique, or the flash technique we will work specifically on your trauma in the safety of the counselling room. We’re not able to forget what we have experienced. But we can work to reduce the effects of the trauma. Rewind is helpful for PTSD, flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive memories, anxiety linked to specific things/situations and panic attacks.
Rewind therapy helps people who have been in accidents, people who have witnessed or been present when traumatic events have happened, and those who have experienced abuse – single events or multiple, with phobias and extreme anxiety.
The Flash Technique is a recently developed evidenced-based therapeutic intervention for reducing the disturbance associated with traumatic or other distressing memories.
You can book sessions specifically focused on these techniques, usually 2-6 sessions or alongside other counselling or psychotherapy work.
My approach in treating trauma is also informed by the work of trauma experts Babette Rothschild, Dr. Janina Fisher, Dr. Peter Levine and Dr. Bessel van der Kolk. It is not always necessary to tell the story of the trauma.
